5 stars for concept, 3-4 stars for execution. I live in Salt Lake City, and, since inversion days are often very cold, I love the idea of a pollution air mask inside of a neck gaiter. The gaiter itself is great – it’s soft and light and zips easily inside the high neck of my winter coat. The mask is pretty decent, too, and it seems effective – it blocks smells, and it takes noticeable effort to draw air in through the filter.

However, I am a little disappointed in the way it fits and secures. The ear loops which hold it on are adjustable, but they are somewhat uncomfortable, and my ears always feel like they are always threatening to fold forward and let the straps slip off. I wear glasses and, on inversion days, often a stocking cap, which helps hold the ear loops in place, but I would much prefer a traditional back of the head strap, which would be more comfortable, easier to tighten, more secure, and only slightly less convenient to put on. I will probably rig one as I use the mask more. Part of the problem may be that my ears are small – I am a small woman with a small face. With the help of the extra padding strip provided, I was able to make the mask seal decently but not perfectly. I often have trouble with standard one-size safety masks swallowing my face or the nose bridges fitting in the wrong place. This mask is better than many, but I would love to see it come in a smaller face size for smaller people.

Hello, thank you so much for the review. We always love the feedback. You will be happy to know that we are working on the strap around the back of the head and it will be in our next version. We love the idea and will definitely incorporate it. We will also incorporate sizes next fall.
